Biology Program Holds Geospatial Application Guest Lecture, Invites Speakers from Kansas City Missouri

Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the AR Building in the FMIPA area, the Biology Study Program, FMIPA Unud held a guest lecture with the theme "The Impact of Geospatial Application in Biology Science". This guest lecture was guided by Drs. Job Nico Subagio, M.Si. as moderator and bringing in speakers, namely Prof. Victor Meledge Ade of the Geography Department at Metropolitan Community College-Longview Kansas City Missouri. This activity was opened by Dr. I Ketut Ginantra, S.Pd., M.Si. as the Coordinator of the Biology Study Program. Ginantra explained that this program aims to broaden the knowledge of lecturers and students of Biology study program regarding geospatial applications in biology.


This event started at 11.00 WITA, attended by 15 lecturers and 20 students of the Biology Study Program offline. The material presented was very interesting and presented in a simple manner, so that participants could understand how geospatial functions should be in uniting and presenting various data obtained through research, especially in biology.


"This guest lecture really opened our horizons as students and lecturers, and introduced us to a software to unify and present geospatial data," said one student who attended the guest lecture. In addition to adding insight, this activity also expands the collaboration and network of the Unud FMIPA Biology Study Program to the international arena. In the future, participants hope that the Biology Study Program, FMIPA Unud, can hold more and better similar events.
