Visit and Guest Lecture at School of Biology and Environmental Sciences, Kwansei Gakuin University, Japan (April 09, 2025)


Biology staff of FMIPA Udayana University visited and conducted a Guest Lecture at the School of Biology and Environmental Sciences (SBES), Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU), Japan on April 9, 2025. This visit and guest lecture were facilitated by Prof. Fujiwara and Prof. Bibin B. Andriana from KGU. At KGU, the UNUD Biology Team was received by the Dean and nine Professors at SBES-KGU Japan. During the visit, six Biology staff (Prof. Retno Kawuri, Prof. Made Pharmawati, Prof. I Ketut Ginantra, Dr. Ngurah Intan Wiratmini, Dr. IGA Manik Ermayanti and Dr. Made Rai Suarni) had the opportunity to visit several laboratories including the Microbiology and Molecular Laboratory, Animal Behavior Laboratory, Botany Laboratory, Biomedical Laboratory. The meeting also discussed the prospects for collaboration between UNUD Biology and KGU SBES, namely the implementation of short courses, research collaboration, student exchanges, guest lecturer programs.

The guest lecture/seminar session was filled with four speakers, namely (1). Prof. Retno Kawuri, topic: Antagonistic potential of Chitosan nanoparticles from Streptomyces sp. Against Ralstonia sp. causing wilting potato plants (Solanum tuberosum), (2). Prof. Made Pharmawati, topic: Genetic diversity of seagrass ands genoprotective effects of encapsulated Enhalus acoroides extract, (3) Prof. I Ketut Ginantra, topic: Mangrove Diversity in Bali, (4) Dr. Ngurah Intan Wiratmini, topic: Larvicidal activity of Ethanol leaf extract of Urena lobata against Aedes aegypti. The seminar was attended by lecturers/professors, regular students and international class students of SBES-KGU.
