Inter. community service; mangrove planting in KUB Simbar Segara Pemogan

This mangrove seedling planting activity is a series of international community service activities entitled "Empowerment of the Simbar Segara Village Community in Pemogan, Denpasar in Managing Mangrove Forests for Ecotourism Activities" The activity was carried out in the Simbar Segara Pemogan Denpasar mangrove forest which is part of the Ngurah Rai Tahura on July 9, 2024. Preparation of 500 seedlings of the Rhizopora spp. species has been carried out since 4 months ago by the international community service team of the Biology study program together with the Simbar Segara Pemogan fishermen group and the Bendega Community. Mangrove seedlings are sourced from mangrove tree propagule that has grown at the location. The nursery uses polybags and planting media/soil sourced from the Simbar Segara mangrove forest area. Seedlings that are ready to plant have met the criteria, namely the age of the seedlings is 3-6 months, roots have grown that are integrated with the media/planting media in a compact condition, the seedling height is at least 20 cm and at least 2 pairs of leaves have grown. A total of 80 participants were involved in this mangrove planting. Participants consisted of the Simbar Segara Pemogan Denpasar Bali fishermen group, Lecturer Staff and Employees of the Biology Study Program, FMIPA Unud, Bachelor, Master, Doctoral students of Biology, FMIPA Unud, Representatives of the Bendega Community and Foreign Volunteers from the FNPF institution (on behalf of: Laura Fournier, Alexander Jambout, Anthoni Fisher, Elena Rohr and Lasson Liu).
