Celebrating the Peak of Its 41st Anniversary, Biology FMIPA UNUD Strengthens Solidarity and the Spirit of Sustainability

DENPASAR - The Biology Conservation agenda, held in conjunction with the 41st anniversary of the Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Udayana University (UNUD), reached its peak on Friday, May 29, 2026. Taking place at the Lecture Building Hall of Udayana University, Jimbaran, the event served as a space for appreciation, reflection, and the strengthening of bonds within the extended Biology family after 41 years of growth and achievement.

 

This peak celebration marked the final part of the KONSERVASI BIOLOGI KE-41 series, which had previously begun with a community service activity through mangrove planting at the Batu Lumbang Mangrove Ecotourism Area. The Biology Student Association (HIMABIO) of the Biology Study Program, FMIPA UNUD, served as the main organizer of this annual event, bringing together the values of conservation, community service, and academic solidarity.

 

Carrying the theme “Nurturing What Has Grown and Moving Forward,” the event reflected the commitment of the Biology academic community of FMIPA UNUD to preserve the values, spirit, and the environment that have been cultivated over the years. The theme also represented a shared spirit to continue moving toward a future that is more adaptive, sustainable, and meaningful for both society and the environment.

 

The program was officially opened with remarks from the Coordinator of the Biology Study Program, Prof. Dra. Luh Putu Eswaryanti Kusuma Yuni, M.Sc., Ph.D., followed by remarks from the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph.D., who formally opened the event.

 

Synergy and Togetherness within the Extended Biology Family

The peak celebration of the 41st Biology Anniversary was attended by active students, lecturers, alumni, and invited guests. The presence of these various elements highlighted the strong cross-generational and cross-role connections that continue to support the Biology Study Program as a space for education, scientific development, and community engagement.

 

Also in attendance were the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Biology, Prof. Dr. Sang Ketut Sudirga, S.Si., M.Si., and the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Biology, Prof. Drs. Yan Ramona, M.App.Sc., Ph.D. The presence of leaders from different academic levels further emphasized that the journey of Biology FMIPA UNUD has been built through synergy and collective support.

 

The tumpeng-cutting ceremony and group photo session became symbols of gratitude for the Biology Study Program’s journey of more than four decades. The event also provided an opportunity to reflect on the contributions of Biology FMIPA UNUD in education, research, community service, and environmental awareness.

 

High Enthusiasm in Celebration and Appreciation

The celebration was enlivened by various creative performances from lecturers and student representatives from the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts. Each performance reflected active participation in creating a warm, lively, and spirited atmosphere of togetherness.

 

The program also featured vocal solo performances, dance covers, games, and a flash mob involving lecturers, alumni, and students. The enthusiasm of participants was evident throughout the event, showing that the peak celebration of the 41st Biology Anniversary served as both a festive occasion and a mean to strengthen a sense of belonging to the study program.

 

Hope for a Sustainable Future

Through the peak celebration of its 41st anniversary, the Biology Study Program of FMIPA UNUD once again affirmed its role as both a center of scientific learning and a nurturing space for academic generations who care about the environment, society, and the future of society.

 

This celebration is expected to serve as a momentum to strengthen familial bonds, enhance social and ecological awareness, and preserve the positive values that have grown over the years. In the spirit of “Nurturing What Has Grown and Moving Forward,” Biology FMIPA UNUD is expected to continue developing adaptively and sustainably while making meaningful contributions to science, society, and the preservation of the Earth.
