Exchange information while initiating collaboration on Mangrove Restoration (MOTION) 2023 "Our Hands For Mangrove"
The Biology Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Biologi/Himabio) of the Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University held a community service activity on mangrove planting through Mangrove Restoration (MOTION) entitled "Our Hands For Mangrove" on March 11, 2023. Activities carried out at Kampoeng Kepiting, Jl. Baypass Ngurah Rai, Tuban, Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali are routine agendas from Himabio to increase concern for the surrounding environment, especially mangrove areas that are still minimal and still need to be improved. So it is expected to be able to restore mangrove trees so that the mangrove area becomes more protected from garbage and abrasion.
The Mangrove Restoration (MOTION)
activity began with remarks from the Chairman of the Committee by Ida Ayu Putu
Oka Apsari Widyaputri, followed by remarks from the Head of the Biology Student
Association by Ahmad Rovikhi, as well as opening remarks by the Head of the
Unud Biology S1 Study Program by Dr. I Ketut Ginantra, S.Pd. M.Si. After the
event was officially opened, it continued with briefing and giving material on
several topics, Among them: (1) Types of
mangrove species by Mr. Agus Diana from Kampoeng Kepiting, (2) How to plant
mangroves by the Wanasari Fishermen group from Kampoeng Crab.
This event lasts for 3 stages.
After the search for seedlings on Saturday, February 25, 2023, the activity
continued with planting seedlings on Saturday, March 11, 2023, and activities
in the last stage, namely monitoring which will be carried out once a month.
With this activity, it is hoped that it can provide new understanding for biology
students to be able to obtain information about procedures for preserving
mangrove plants starting from the process of seeding, planting, to plant
monitoring.
